Comments.

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data specified in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser information to help us detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a so-called hash) may be transmitted to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. Gravatar's privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once a comment is approved, your profile photo will be visible publicly next to your comment.

Media.

If you upload images to your site, avoid uploading files with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download images and receive this data.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you may agree to have your name, email address and website saved in a cookie. This is for your convenience, so that you do not have to re-enter these data the next time you comment. These cookies are valid for one year.

If you visit the login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

After you log in, we will also set a few cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. The login cookie is valid for two days and the screen settings cookie is valid for one year. If you choose "Remember Me", your login information will be stored for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookie is deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. It does not contain personal data and simply indicates the ID of the post you just edited. It expires in one day.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited this site directly.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party trackers, and track your interaction with such embedded content, including tracking if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows you to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on the site (if any), we also store the personal data they provide in their profile. All users can view, edit or delete their data at any time (except for changing their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this data.

Your rights regarding data

If you have an account on the site or have left comments, you can request the export of a file containing all the personal data we store about you, including the data you provided to us. You can also ask us to delete any personal data we store. This does not apply to data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.
