About the project · Your Help UA

Conscious choice begins at school.

Recovery is a 7-day program for children affected by the war in Ukraine. We work with three categories: children from frontline regions, orphans and children with missing relatives, children who have lost loved ones.

Location — Your Camp, Partyzanskyi Khutir village (Chernivtsi District, Chernivtsi Region). A safe place with comfortable accommodations. The program's permanent base.

The cost of one week for one child is $120. This is the full amount including meals, accommodation, a psychologist, workshops, and transportation. In 2026, the rate increased from $100 due to inflation (fuel almost doubled in price, and with it — food and wages).

What this looks like in practice. A camp session runs from Monday to Sunday. The days follow one rhythm: morning meetings, group conversations, workshops, camp games, reflection with a mentor in the evening. Not an “entertainment camp” — a clear structure with psychological and emotional support.

The team during a camp session. At least two psychologists and a medic. The rest are volunteers: 6 mentors and 15 instructors, selected for each group. As of today, 10 key people at the foundation lead the project on an ongoing basis.

In 2025 — 708 children. One camp session — 60–70 participants. The first camp session in the updated format took place in April 2024. How children come to us: through local communities, education departments, and social policy departments, which compile lists and pass them on to us.

What changes. Children arrive irritable, may react sharply, and use foul language. By the end of the week, they become calmer, make compromises, and start talking about themselves. Confidence appears.

Who we invite

Three categories of children who need it most

Priority goes to those who need it most. How people learn about us: through local communities, education departments, and social policy departments, which compile lists and pass them on to us.

Children from frontline regions

Growing up in fear, instability, and a destroyed everyday life. Many of them still do not remember what it is like to sleep without listening for the siren.

Children who have lost loved ones

They carry the weight of loss — a father at the front, a mother, an older brother or sister killed during shelling. They need warmth, understanding, and the restoration of trust. This is our main priority.

Orphaned children and children with missing relatives

Without parental care, often in vulnerable conditions. The program becomes for them their first lasting experience of stability and adults who are there for them.

Structure of the week

Seven days — from meeting to goodbye

One camp session lasts from Monday to Sunday. Each day has its own purpose: from adaptation to deep group work, from workshops to reflection with a mentor.

Monday · Camp session
Introductions and settling in

Children arrive and settle in. A game to get to know the camp, meeting their mentor. The first evening gathering is a gentle start without pressure.

Tuesday–Friday · Working days
A rhythm that holds

Exercise → breakfast → morning meeting → group conversations → workshops → lunch → camp game → afternoon snack → workshops → dinner → evening meeting → “spring” (little stream) outside → billiards / table tennis → reflection with a mentor.

Saturday · Point
Summary and memory

Breakfast → morning meeting → group conversations → receiving merch (T-shirts) → group photo → lunch → camp game → afternoon snack → one more camp game → dinner → evening meeting → “spring” → final reflection with a mentor.

Sunday · Home
Departure with new support

Breakfast → departure. The child returns home with their mentor’s contact, new friends — and the feeling that they were heard.

Foundation motto

Give hope — give childhood back.

Children who have lived through loss, shelling, and frontline instability do not return to “normal” on their own. They need to be guided through seven days where nothing explodes and there is always an adult nearby.

Methodology

Four components that work together

Through art, nature, calm, and presence, children gradually heal. We do not “treat the symptom” — we create an environment where trauma is processed from different directions at the same time.

Creativity and art therapy

Drawing, sculpting, collages, music, theater. Workshops that help children express what they do not yet have words for.

Sports and nature

Team games, walks in the forest, outdoor activity. The body “switches off” anxiety faster than conversation can.

Hippotherapy

Working with horses. An animal has no prejudice, asks no questions — and reads a person faster than adults do.

Mentorship and presence

An adult who holds a hand for longer than one week. Individual and group sessions with specialists. A space of hope and meaning — without moralizing.

How much it costs

One week — $120 per child

This is the full cost of a 7-day stay — meals, accommodation, psychologist, workshops, transportation. One camp session (60–70 children) — about $7 200–8 400.

One child
$120
7 days of a full stay
One camp session
$7,2K
60–70 children · full week
Year (12 camp sessions)
$86K
≈700–840 children per year
Why not $100, as before

Inflation. Diesel and fuel have nearly doubled in price, and with them — food, wages, utilities. That is why from 2026 we are setting $120 per week, to realistically cover costs without reducing the quality of the program.

How to get involved

Support Recovery — and even more children will receive help.

Every hryvnia means new sessions in new schools. Every volunteer means more children who will hear an adult.
